SNAKE
Snake is one of the two ranged hackers in the game, slinging knives at his opponents while gliding around on his trusty hoverboard. In line with his animal motif, Snake's abilities were designed to encourage a hit-and-run style of gameplay. His kit allows him to dart in and out of combat to unleash his powerful close-ranged abilities like Fan of Knives before backing out to pepper his opponents with a barrage basic attacks.

While Snake only has a single movement ability, he makes up for it with the highest movement speed out of all the hackers. In some of the earlier builds of the game Snake's movement was actually slightly floaty and imprecise in an attempt to mimic the physics of the hoverboard, however that concept was dropped after playtesting the concept.
HAWK
The long-range sniper was a difficult fit amongst the constantly deteriorating stage and cast of highly mobile hackers, but his powerful snipe and array of defensive abilities make up for his lack of close-range strength.

Hawk is quite slow and very fragile but boasts two different survivability options that allow him to slip away from unwanted combat. Originally the character was actually quite fast and that, combined with his other abilities, made him extremely difficult to kill. His damaging skills had little to no risk to use and he quickly became the most powerful hacker. Since that time, his newly reduced move speed and increased cooldowns make him a bit more managable and his playstyle more interesting and rewarding.
SCORPION
As opposed to many of the other hackers who try to manipulate their own positions, Scorpion attempts to keep her opponents locked down within range of her powerful melee blows. Similar to Snake, Scorpion only has a single movement ability but makes up for that with naturally high movement speed and multiple movement manipulating abilities.

Scorpion originally suffered from an odd problem where her abilities wanted her opponents to be close but her actual power in those close range fights was lower than Armadillo and, to some degree, Snake after he gained his "fancy dance" attack. Still, her abilities provide a rather unique playstyle and continued tweaks push her closer to the correct power level.
ARMADILLO
The slowest hacker of the group, Armadillo's attacks all carry with them a weighty sense of power with the damage and destruction to match. While she does indeed have the slowest movement overall, her charge and leap allow her to traverse the battlefield quickly while remaining fairly protected from attacks and, to top it off, she possesses the highest health pool.

Most of her abilities have the unique ability to destroy the various props on the stage allowing her further freedom of movement that other hackers can't match. In earlier versions of the game she used to make entire holes in the stage; she now only damages the top layer and props around the stage after the consequence of falling off changed from damage to instant death.
